The Family Matters Organizer
Organized to the Core’s founder, Tami Gallagher, is a Professional Organizer specializing in Family Time Management.
Tami Gallagher grew up in Sunfish Lake, Minnesota the third of four children. Right from the get go, she was a classic middle child peacemaker, learning quickly the value of educating the two opposing sides to come to a solution that worked for both using a mediator.
After high school, Tami attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, dabbling in any number of majors. After deciding on Architectural drafting, she transferred to Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and earned two degrees from there in Architectural Drafting – one in combination with Hennepin Community College.
While attending HTC, Tami followed her love for animals, working for a veterinary clinic that specialized in cats. Starting as a Kennel Assistant, then Receptionist, Veterinary Assistant/Technician, Practice Manager, and ending as Hospital Administrator, she trained and educated to fulfill each position along the way. All the while organizing the hospital to maximum productivity, efficiency, and providing top-notch customer service. Tami loved working with the animals and clients at Parkview Cat Clinic so much that continued on even after graduation from college.
After the birth of Tami’s third child, she could no longer work the long hours and decided to pursue a career in drafting. She began as a Drafter at Busch Caulfield Architects, now Busch Architects and soon added the title of Office Administrator as again she gravitated toward organizing the office.
2004 brought the birth of Tami’s fourth child and a near death experience. As all major life changing events do, this brought about a serious examination of her values and what they meant to her, her husband, and their four children.
During this exploration Tami determined her passion was in organizing and specifically what that meant to families. She saw a gap in the education families receive in organizing and time management (and a lack of connectedness among typical American families). The timing was right October of 2005 and she decided to open the doors of Organized to the Core TM as The Family Matters Organizer. Since then she has partnered with a Life Coaching company, Creative Coaching (also geared toward families), and together they have founded a company called, Core Living.
Currently she is working on her Professional Organizer Certification and will take the exam through the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) of which she is a member. At the chapter level (NAPO-MN), Tami chairs the Strategic Partners committee and is energetically involved with other chapter activities as well. She is also completing her degree in Family Life Education at Concordia University.
Tami believes every family matters. Her passion is educating families, especially those with special circumstances or challenges, on how to manage their clutter and time more effectively even when... [Fill in special circumstance here].
We are all a collective to a bigger world. Everything starts at home. She believes in bringing the focus and heart back to the modern family to get increased family time, connectedness, closeness and respect, and ease in living that will transfer out to the rest of the world.
Tami currently lives with her husband, 3 daughters, 1 son, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 1 guinea pig, and multiple fish in Eagan, Minnesota. Her immediate and extended family (including in-laws) all live within a 15 mile radius.
